Dry Eye Clinic
Dry eye is becoming an increasingly common problem as the use of computers and working in air-conditioned buildings can really agitate the eyes. Dry eye is an uncomfortable and sometimes inconvenient condition, but with a little bit of extra time and effort, you can really make a difference to the comfort of your eyes.
Dry eye occurs when your tears do not lubricate your cornea (front surface of the eye) sufficiently. Every time you blink your tears should coat the surface of your eyes to keep them moist and comfortable.
If you have dry eye, although your tears may be plentiful, they may not be the correct consistency or the tears may not stay where they should and actually make your eyes water more. It is vital that the oily layer in your tears is present to rehydrate your eyes sufficiently.
We run private dry eye clinics where our Optician will give a full assessment of your condition and look at prescribing the best course of treatment for you.
