Rachel started working at Hepworth and Hall Opticians in 2013 as a trainee dispensing optician she later completed her Foundation Degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing at Bradford College in 2017 where she won the Federation of Opticians Prize for the top day-release course student.
Rachel is now a fully qualified dispensing optician working at the Pemberton branch where she helps patients by advising them about the best frames and lenses for their needs.
In her spare time Rachel loves to spend time with her family and has a bit of a baking addiction!
Emma began working for Hepworth and Hall Opticians in 2014 as a Trainee Optical Advisor at our Hindley branch, Barnes Hazel Opticians.
She worked in Hindley for 4 years before taking up the role of Practice Manager at our Atherton store in 2018.
She is currently studying for a Foundation Degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing at Bradford College.
Emma loves to bake and whenever possible loves to treat herself to a spa weekend filled with lots of retail therapy too!
Adrian started his career in Optics for Hepworth and Hall Opticians in 1993. He qualified as a Dispensing Optician before also completing his Contact Lens Certificate some years later. Adrian is the General Manager for Hepworth and Hall and undertakes the day to day running of the practices, whilst dispensing quality spectacles. He also hosts specialist clinics for contact lenses, dry eye and has recently obtained his certification in colorimetry.
Outside of work Adrian enjoys supporting the town’s football and rugby teams and gets down to the stadium whenever he can.
Brian started his optical career at Jacksons Opticians in Manchester. After 2 years at Jacksons he moved to Hepworth and Hall in August 1978 working mainly at the Atherton practice. Brian took over ownership of four Hepworth and Hall practices in 2005.
He is involved in the Local Optical Committee, cricket and organising beer festivals including the Bent and Bong Beer Bash in Atherton which has raised over £750,000 for charity.
Chris has worked in Optics since he left school and first trained as a Dispensing Optician at Bradford College. He worked in Manchester where he also did some glazing in the lab and then gained further experience in Liverpool and London. Chris then returned to study Optometry at Bradford University and went on to work in Leeds Infirmary; a centre for keratoconus, contact lenses for children and corneal grafts.
Chris has been the Optometrist at the Hepworth and Hall Pemberton practice since 1994.
Outside of work Chris loves to cycle (not in lycra though!), swim, walk and has a love for historic buildings.
Elaine joined Hepworth and Hall Opticians in 1996 and has been working at the Pemberton branch ever since. Elaine has a fantastic amount of experience in customer service and has been helping patients pick their perfect pair of glasses for over 23 years!
She is currently the Manager of the Pemberton practice and has completed various training courses in customer services and administration.
Elaine loves socialising with friends, spending time with her family and cooking.
Janet is a state enrolled nurse, qualified in 1977 at Royal East Sussex Hospital. Janet continued to work with a diploma in orthopaedic nursing at Harlow Ward Mansfield.
She gave up nursing in 1989 and started to work at Hepworth and Hall Opticians as a receptionist and optical advisor. Janet became a major shareholder in 2005 in B Gleave Opticians, parent company of Hepworth and Hall, Barnes Hazel and Alan Bowen Opticians.
In her spare time Janet enjoys shopping, socialising and attending concerts.
Jean worked in accounts before starting a family and then worked for her own family business for many years, gaining lots of customer service experience. She then started to work for Hepworth and Hall in 1997 as a receptionist but over many years her skills have developed and now she also glazes the spectacles in the lab.
Jean is now mainly based at the Upholland practice and works with Jessica and Kirsty on reception.
In her spare time Jean loves to read, go walking and enjoys cooking with her daughter Clare.
Janet is a Behavioural Optometrist, working in the Wigan area and has over 20 years experience providing optometric vision training and therapy to children and adults. She recently joined the family business Hepworth and Hall Opticians and especially loves to work with students who have specific learning difficulties and dyslexia.
Janet is also involved with the charity Vision Aid Overseas where she travels to third world countries helping to provide the best eye care and glasses to those in need.
David started working at Hepworth and Hall in 2007 as a trainee Dispensing Optician and in 2010 completed his Foundation Degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing at Bradford College. David is now a fully qualified Dispensing Optician with over 10 years experience working in practice.
In his current role as Sales Director, he liaises with suppliers enabling us to offer our customers great value for money without compromising on quality.
David enjoys playing golf and is an active member at Deanwood Golf Club. He also loves to get involved with the local community sports teams.
Alex qualified from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) with a BSc in Optometry in June 1995 and passed the professional qualifying examinations of the General Optical Council in June 1996.
Since then he has worked for both multiples and independent practices full time, owning his own practice from June 2005 to November 2012.
Alex is involved with the charity Vision Aid Overseas where he leads teams of optometrists to third world countries, including Ethiopia, Ghana and India, to carry out free eye examinations and provide glasses to those who would otherwise not be able to access or afford them. In November 2019 he lead his 10th trip!
He is also heavily involved in the Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Local Optical Committee which promotes eye care in the community and liaises with other local professional bodies to improve the overall provision of health services.
In his spare time Alex is a keen cyclist and tries to get out a couple of times per week. He also enjoys live music and goes to as many events as possible.
Jane originally worked for Hepworth and Hall from 1987 until 1997. She later returned in 2007 and has been working solely at the Atherton practice since then. Jane is a Receptionist and Optical Advisor and is one of the first people you interact with when you enter the practice.
Meeting and greeting patients both new and old is something Jane loves about her job! The aim is to build long term relationships by giving each person we see the best service and experience possible.
Outside of work Jane loves to read, crochet and spend time with her husband, children and grandson.
Helen has worked in optics since 1982 where she joined an independent company in the Wigan area. She joined the Hepworth and Hall team in 2017 and works at our Pemberton branch as an experienced Optical Advisor.
Helen loves to garden, enjoys walking and reading and spends her spare time watching the F1.
Kara worked at Optical Express in Manchester for 4 years as an optical advisor. She then started to work at Hepworth and Hall Opticians in 2014 as a receptionist. Kara now teaches patients how to insert and remove contact lenses and helps patients with the choosing of their spectacle frames.
Kara is a busy mum of two and enjoys reading, socialising and the paranormal!
Kaylee has worked for Hepworth and Hall Opticians for 13 years. She mainly works at our Pemberton branch as the receptionist but also works in the lab glazing spectacles at the Hindley branch.
Kaylee really loves helping customers and adjusting glasses to make them fit perfectly.
In her spare time Kaylee goes to the gym, loves socialising, spending time with her son and whenever possible loves to go on holidays!
